A Student In Love
My Beautiful Mother is a Brilliant Social Worker(CSULB) and my Father is an Occupational Therapist(USC) & together they created me: Marjani Akilah Salary-Future Clinical Psychologist!:) I'm going into my fourth year at CSUSM but I'v decided to stay an extra year for 2 solid reasons. One, I refuse to leave with my bachelors until I'm completely positive I can go straight into a doctorate program of my choice and Two, even though its not required, I want to try and take every psych class that's offered. I know it sounds ridiculous but I have a deep passion to know and learn EVERYTHING there is to know about the psyche! .. .What can I say,, I'm a Student In Love!

I missed my 9/2 deadline for two reasons. 1) it was my 21st birthday week and iv been completely occupied with friends and family throwing me a surprise party and taking me out all week. And 2) I absolutely underestimated my work load…not to mention me and my boyfriend don’t get our new cable service until this upcoming Tuesday so there is no internet at our house. But reguardless I’m just swamped! Right now Im currently trying to get into a biomedical research program at my university and my 5 classes has me reading at all hours of the day.
I’m really on the grind right now to make sure I can get into a doctorate program but I don’t want to lose sight of why I choose psych in the first place. That’s why I made this site, to help me study and to stick to my Passion without getting caught up in the strict structure of school. So I’m very much dedicated to this site. I’m thinking that ill just have to do updates after every midterm when I get a little breather before learning new material.
A little about me before I leave u again… I’m completely one of kind. I’m not into material things, I don’t feel comfortable around people who talk bad about other people and I’m really really into nature . I’m actually not a people person, i dont like chocolate and I want to be a clinical psychologist.. yes these are random facts about me but I give these random facts to make this point: there is no set script for anything so do what you love„ do what warms your heart and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t or you shouldn’t! …and if people want to run their mouth about what your doing, let them! they don’t affect your future. . .

Today was the first day of the Fall 2011 classes and it couldn’t of been a more blessed day! Being in an environment of young people who share a genuine passion for knowledge is just another one of God’s beauties.Its only day one and there are already juicy and enlightening topics I just simply can’t wait to share!
After reviewing my 5 class work load I have decided to do weekly entries of my 4 psych classes every Friday. Mon/Wed classes: Abnormal Psych and Social Psych will be grouped together and Tues/Thurs classes: History of Psych and Psych of Human Sexuality will be featured together as well.
This Friday (9/2) the Psych blogging will begin[!!!] along with an updated calendar and book list just in case you want to follow along or would like information to read for your selves. Everything I post is from how I’v read and understand it. If there is something you would like to add or just simply have an opinion PLEASE please share; You are definitely more than Welcome!! I will enable my site so that ALL guests whether they have a tumblr account or not may comment.
